Salayha earned her undergraduate degree from The University of California-Davis and her law degree from the Golden Gate University College of Law, where she was the Associate Editor of the Environmental Law Journal, served on the Moot Court Board, and earned the Paul S. Jordan Achievement Award for Service and Contribution. After law school, she served as a judicial clerk to the Hon. Alan Jaroslovsky in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California.

Her practice focuses on the defense of general, complex, motor vehicle, and transportation cases and she has extensive experience handling cases involving catastrophic injuries, wrongful death, construction accidents, breach of contract, professional liability, and fraud.  She has litigated in California state and federal courts and has argued before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.  

Salayha is committed to finding the best possible outcome for her clients, through early resolution or taking the case to trial, if necessary. She has mediated over one hundred cases and works closely with opposing counsel, demonstrating civility and collegiality to get the best possible outcome for her clients.

Outside of her legal work, Salayha is heavily invested in her community.  She previously served as the Director of the Association of Defense Counsel for Northern California, is a member of the Edward J. McFetridge Inn of Court, and served as the Risk Management Advisor to the Alpha Psi Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega.  She frequently mentors high school and middle school students and co-founded the non-profit organization Achieving Character Through Sports, which provides a safe haven for underserved youths through sports and academic motivation. She also volunteers as a coach to mock trial teams at local law schools.

She is a proud first-generation immigrant, speaks conversational Urdu, and is proficient in Spanish. She is a member of the State Bar of California; the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of California; and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
