Shawn is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia in 1998, cum laude, and his law degree from Emory University in 2001. He has earned an AV-Preeminent (highest) peer rating by Martindale-Hubbell, has been named a Georgia “Super Lawyer” in civil litigation defense for several consecutive years, and has been named one of Georgia’s “Legal Elite” Attorneys by Georgia Trend Magazine. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia.
Shawn’s practice focuses on defending wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases. He has extensive experience defending commercial motor vehicle companies, their drivers, and insurers in all aspects of litigation stemming from motor vehicle collisions. He is a “first call” attorney for some of the largest trucking companies and insurers in America and regularly defends six-, seven-, and eight-figure claims and lawsuits from moments after a collision occurs through final resolution by settlement, motion practice, trial, and appeal.
Shawn also has extensive experience defending premises liability and product liability cases, crane and lift accidents, and passenger auto collisions and has represented restaurant franchises, health clubs, apartment complexes, and automobile dealerships.
Shawn has spoken at several national and local conferences and webinars and is a member of the Transportation Lawyers Association (TLA) and the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association (GDLA).
Shawn and his wife, Lindsey, have two daughters.
