Tom earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and his law degree from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles.  He is admitted to practice in state and federal trial courts in California and the United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.  He has over 30 years working in civil litigation, including extensive experience defending wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases arising from motor vehicle collisions.

He regularly handles multi-million dollar claims and lawsuits from the time a collision occurs through final resolution by settlement, motion practice, trial, and appeal. Tom also has specialized knowledge and experience representing motor vehicle manufacturers and dealerships in warranty litigation and consumer claims, as well as defending claims against homeowners associations, insurers, and businesses.

Tom is married to Patti Perez, an employment law specialist and the author of The Drama Free Workplace. Their three kids live in Chicago, Los Angeles, and South Bend. 

Tom spends his spare time traveling with Patti and competing in hockey leagues in San Diego.
