Robert earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of California, Davis, where he served as the Senior Editor of the UC Davis Journal of International Law & Policy.
His practice is primarily focused on the defense of motor carriers and their insurers and he has extensive experience representing national automotive manufacturers against negligence and strict products liability lawsuits in both state and federal courts.
He recently defended the County of San Diego as first chair trial attorney in a 2-week civil rights trial in the United States District Court for the Central District of California, where the plaintiff asked for $2 million in damages and punitive damages against the San Diego Sheriff’s Deputy, and the jury returned a unanimous defense verdict. He also served as second-chair trial counsel on two automotive breach of warranty trials that ended in favorable results for the client.
He was named among the “Top Young Attorneys” by the San Diego Daily Transcript and is a member of the American Bar Association (Products Liability Committee), San Diego County Bar Association, Association of Business Trial Lawyers, San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association (Board Member 2008-2013), The Honorable Louis M. Welsh Inn of Court, and the San Diego Downtown YMCA (Board of Management 2008-2013).
He is an active member of his community and serves as the Mock Trial Coach for Christian High School in El Cajon.
